Where the maGic Happens

Saw this really nice idea for a painting on HGTV (aaah!! I hate saying that) that inspired me to erase the hard work and diamond painting I did for this argyle pattern in the bedroom. I kinda hurt to paint over it, but I like the fresh start. I'm definitely taking pictures when the painting goes up, so stayed tuned!

Start from behind

I always start from my favorite part, and I think that's apparent. This is Bonnie. I like her butt.

They tried to school Me but...

I wanted to upload some progress pics of a recent commission. I think my favorite part of a working on a painting is the process...not just of my work but other artists as well. It kind of gives you an inside look of the way people approach things. In school, they teach you to lay each color down and work "all around" the painting instead of section by section. What do "they" know anyway?

Peanut Butter and Some Jelly

SGIA in Nola. I got to learn from Marvelous Marv and walked away with a free t-shirt. We spent all day drooling over printers and plotters but I never thought I'd get to screen print.

Sunday School Art.

This was sitting on my co-worker's desk today.

Sunday school project: to draw a self portrait above the caption "God made me"

4 year old boy draws the pic you see above. I kinda thought the footer was funny as well.

Happy Accidents?

The painting on the left was the original Daisy. Once it was finished I was anxious to shellac. I took an old can of clear shellac out of my car, and went to town not thinking the 100+ degree weather in Louisiana would have any effect on it. Lo and behold...a nice coat of yellow goodness. Devistation.
So, I went with a vintage look (minus the tramp stamp of course).

Right before it Rained

When life gets me down...I just look up into the sky and remind myself of what's really important in life.

What the f**% is juice?

Walking into the office kitchen to get my morning coffee, opening up the fridge and seeing this, made my day. I stood there and laughed while everyone crinkled their faces at me like they usually do. Grape Drink reminds me a of Dave Chappelle skit. If you haven't seen it, it's worth checking out.
